Dr Fussey is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and joined the Sociology department in September 2010.  Prior to that he spent eight years at the University of East London as Senior Lecturer and Leader of the Criminology and Criminal Justice programme.

During this time he taught on a range of criminological themes – including criminological theory, transnational organised crime, urbanisation and crime and psychological criminology – and on critical terrorism and counter-terrorism related issues.

Dr Fussey also co-developed England’s first MSc in Terrorism Studies whilst at UEL. Prior to that he completed a PhD analysing the dissemination of surveillance strategies in the UK.

Dr Fussey is an International Visiting Scholar in Criminology at Monash University in April 2012.
