Criminology Research Council Grant success for Monash Criminology

CRG grantMonash Criminology’s Dr Asher Flynn, with co-investigators Dr Nicola Henry (La Trobe) and Dr Anastasia Powell (RMIT) have been awarded a highly competitive Criminology Research Council Grant commencing in 2016 to conduct a study Responding to Revenge Pornography: The Scope, Nature and Impact of Australian Criminal Laws.
The ground-breaking project is the first Australian empirical study on the online distribution of intimate or sexual digital images without consent, also known as “revenge pornography”. The project addresses a significant research gap on a social and legal issue that is of growing importance across the globe. The mixed-methods project combining interview and survey data will generate new knowledge that has the potential to inform legal and non-legal responses to this emerging, contemporary harm in Australia and internationally.
