ANZ Critical Conference Proceedings 2009

In 2009 Monash Criminology hosted the annual Australia and New Zealand Critical Criminolgy Conference. The Critical Criminology Conference is an important annual forum that encourages diversity and breadth in the development of critical criminological research in Australia and New Zealand.  Over the course of two days over fifty papers were presented by researchers to an audience of one hundred academics, researchers, policy makers, advocates and students. The outstanding production of important criminology research was showcased by the launching of four monographs over the course of the conference: Anna Eriksson’s Justice in Transition (Willan); Stephen Tomsen’s Violence, Prejudice and Sexuality (Routledge), Elizabeth Stanley’s Torture, Truth and Justice (Routledge) and Marie Segrave, Sanja Milivojevic & Sharon Pickering’s Sex Trafficking (Willan). The edited collection of refereed papers from this conference is testamount to the expanding reach of critical research.
