Australian Generations HistoryPin Map

We created a HistoryPin map to invite our listeners to explore our collection visually. We’ve created a pin for each interviewee and these pins are linked to interviewees’ online catalogue records.

Australian Generations Radio Series

Fathertime: The Making and Shaping of Fatherhood in Australia

The first radio program using interviews recorded as part of the Australian Generations Oral History Project aired on ABC Radio National’s Hindsight in November 2013. The feature uses memories from across the generations, alongside the views of historians and sociologists, to explore how fatherhood has changed over the 20th century.

Crowded Houses, Empty Nests

The second radio program using interviews recorded as part of the Australian Generations Oral History Project aired on ABC Radio National’s Hindsight in March 2014. The feature goes inside that personal space we call ‘home’ to explores ideas of house and home in Australia across the 20th century.

Initial Radio Series: Using Pilot Interviews

The National Library of Australia and ABC Radio National played significant collaborative roles in producing a radio series based on pilot interviews conducted by the research team in 2008-2009. The interviews featured on Radio National’s Hindsight over five weeks during 2010.
