France, 1914: a one-day conference on the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War

In conjunction with the 2014 George Rudé Seminar in French History and Civilisation, the George Rudé Society, the Faculty of Arts and Education and the Alfred Deakin Research Institute at Deakin University, will be holding a one day conference to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War at the State Library of Victoria on 15 July 2014.

Annette Becker and Jay Winter, who are well-known to friends of Anzac Remembered, will join other specialists in the history of France and the Great War including John Merriman, Bruno Cabanes and Martyn Lyons. For further details on the seminar, please follow the link or contact
