Chanelle Warton, Polin Internship 2017 Summer

POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is a museum on the site of the former Warsaw Ghetto.

“My recent internship with the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews was a rewarding experience. Involvement with the POLIN Museum allowed me to thoroughly engage with the history and culture of Jewish, especially Polish Jewish, people. This experience was particularly fascinating because of the physical location of the museum in Warsaw, Poland – a place that has great historical significance both for the international and Jewish communities.

As an intern in POLIN’s education department, I was fortunate to be involved in enriching intellectual debates about the social and political significance of the Museum for Jewish people, for Poland and for the international community. Working at POLIN was ultimately an astounding experience that allowed me to learn about Jewish history while also engaging with the broader implications of the creation of the POLIN Museum.”
